If you're short on time, then High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is great way to get in your cardio without spending an hour on the treadmill. You do short bursts of work with rest periods mixed in. This means you work harder, but for a much, much shorter period of time.

Sounds great, right? Well, you haven't actually tried it yet. Give one (or all) of these workouts a try and see what you think. Chances are, you'll be sweating waaaay more than you do when running on the treadmill.

Kettlebell Pyramid

Kettlebell swings are a great form of cardio. They get your heart pumping fast. On top of that, they work multiple areas of the body at once. Combine that with these other total body moves and you've got a well-rounded workout that you can get done fast. (But it sure as heck won't be easy!)

15 Minute Rowing Intervals

This calorie blaster uses intervals to get the most out of the short period of time spent doing cardio. Rowing is great because it doesn't miss a single body part if you're going through the motions correctly. Legs, back, arms, abs, and everything in between are hit hard during this movement.

Bodyweight HIIT Workout

No machines were harmed in the making of this workout. Bodyweight exercises can be just as effective at burning calories as a rowing machine or kettlebell. If you don't have access to either of those, then feel free to start tossing your body around to a workout like this one.

Cardio/Toning Combo

If you want to get in as much work as possible in a really short period of time, then this is a great way to make it happen. This workout combines cardio bursts with toning exercises using dumbbells. You will keep your heart rate up for a entire half hour, and you won't even have to go and lift after—you'll be completely done!
